TERM OF SERVICE & HOURS:

The U. S. District Court uses a two week standby call in system for jurors. PLEASE CALL THE TELEPHONE NUMBER ON YOUR SUMMONS AFTER 5:30 P. M. ON THE WEEKEND BEFORE YOUR REPORTING DAY AND EVERY NIGHT THEREAFTER FOR TWO WEEKS. Although jury service is for approximately two weeks, you probably will not be asked to report every day. Do not report unless the initial of your last name is called. On each day you are asked to report, unless otherwise instructed by the Jury Clerk or Trial Judge, you will report at the time scheduled on the telephone recording system. It may be necessary to extend your service beyond two weeks. A normal service day begins at 8:00 A. M. & concludes at 5:00 P. M. You will be dismissed each day as soon as all jury needs for that day have been met.

TRANSPORTATION, PARKING AND REIMBURSEMENT:

You will receive $86.OO (December 1 - April 30) or $78.00 (May 1 - November 30) subsistence for overnight stay when traveling over 50 miles one way. The pay for jury service is $40.00 per day unless you are a Federal employee and $0.31 per mile.
