Ham Radio
Doug's call is KD4SQ, and he hasn't been very active lately.
Previously he worked on lots of
public service projects, but age and high living have taken their toll so that he no longer enjoys
rolling out of bed in the cold grey dawn to provide communications for volunteers with
commercial radios. He did provide boat-bourne two meter communications for this year's
Kayak Race, and had a jolly good time until one of the jet-ski radio volunteers started to sink
just south of the Venetian Causeway.
The 55' Tri-Ex came down in Andrew, and hasn't gotten up again. It is in pretty good
shape, but still lying in the back yard providing a shin obstacle for the unwary. Gotta have an
antenna party soon.
